I’ve always loved reading. Years ago, I would join Goodreads reading challenges and would aim to hit at least 20 books a year. I decided to bring this back but here on my blog to share with you the books I’m reading and my thoughts as I finish them. Below is my list, but I’ll add more to it as I aim to read 20 for 2020.

I included links to Goodreads if you wish to know more about the books and to Amazon if you decide to purchase them. If you prefer listening to audiobooks, then I recommend Audible.

Books I'm Reading

The Art of Happiness by Dalai Lama

status: read 100%

The Dalai Lama fascinates me so much. This is a book that is definitely worth a read regardless of your faith as his words would resonate to anyone. This doesn’t contain the secret formula to happiness, but what this book does is guide you to it. There are so many good points in here – about goodness, compassion and opening up to true happiness and a peaceful mindset – it’s hard to sum them all up. But read this one to gain a better perspective of things, especially of yourself. I know this is something I will definitely pick up often. Reading it felt like meditation.

Digital Minimalism by Cal Newport

status: read 100%

This is a book I was excited to read as soon as I knew about it. I’m someone who practices minimalism in my daily life, but surely not when it comes to my apps and social media usage. Cal Newport’s insights on the digital world will really strike a chord with you if you feel you’ve become more than a little enslaved to technology. This book will surely help evaluate your relationship with social media and change how you approach technology in general.
